Staff has attended training courses on beekeeping and are now successfully beekeeping at the Salamatof Tribe!


Staff have built a new compost system, created a slash pile, made a new field for future gardening and put a cover crop on it.

Working on an agriculture and pollinator project for the berry farm. 

 

Looking into the possibility of using our forest for future economic projects, while trying to manage the forest better.


Creating maps of our Tribes’ lands to see what the dominant vegetation types are to learn better how the forest looks, and how it should look at its healthiest. 


Working with First nations Development institute to develop a Natural resource management plan

We plan on having a thriving garden next summer to provide fresh produce for our community. 


 We are always thinking about how to continue working to grow in ways to help with food security and how to better our lands.
