The Roots and Remedies Department is dedicated to natural wellness, holistic care, and plant-based healing. At its foundation is a working haskap berry farm, where nutrient-rich berries are grown and used in products that support everyday health. The department also offers integrative services such as Brain spotting, and Healing Touch, along with creative practices like beading and arts and crafts as pathways for healing and self-expression.

Roots and Remedies host hands-on workshops that invite people to learn and reconnect with traditional skills and knowledge. These workshops range from sewing and beading to harvesting medicinal plants and making salves, offering practical tools for everyday wellness. By bringing together land-based learning, therapeutic care, and creative expression, the department supports a balanced approach to physical, emotional, and community well-being.

The department also creates meaningful opportunities for community connection. Elder berry picking days brings volunteers together to support elders while creating a space for youth and elders to connect, share knowledge, and spend time on the land. In addition, there are many other volunteer opportunities that encourage involvement, learning, and giving back.
By bringing together land-based practices, therapeutic care, creative expression, and community engagement, Roots and Remedies support a balanced approach to physical, emotional, and cultural well-being.
